Stop wasting your time, always get preapproved before you start. Looking for a new home, unless you’re buying with cash, the preapproval process, will give you a realistic budget on how much you can afford, and what you can look for, in some cases, you may be surprised, and might be able to afford more than you thought opening up a whole new class of houses that you can look at.
