One of the fist things you will notice as your drive in to The Valley is the the trails you will see almost immediately. In fact you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views and wildlife in more than 4,800 acres of foothills open space. Over 45 miles of hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails are ready for the exploration of our residents! Trails in the foothills and hogbacks are unpaved while those found nearer residential areas are generally paved and more accessible to all users. Trails are patrolled regularly. Finding equestrian friendly neighborhoods are getting harder and harder to find with all of the new development.

The scenic tranquility of the Ken-Caryl Valley, the nostalgic splendor of the facilities, along with the dedication of the staff make the Center one of the most picturesque and professionally operated equine facilities in the state. They offer two fully groomed outdoor arenas and a large indoor arena for the convenience of our boarders. Over thousands of acres of native Colorado open space and several miles of trails to access it are open for Ken-Caryl Ranch riders.

Ken-Caryl Ranch Community Center
The Ken-Caryl Ranch Community Center is a complete recreation facility that was remodeled in 2016. The facility is owned by Jefferson County Open Space and operated by the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District. The Community Center is easily accessed off of C-470 and offers exceptional views of the Dakota Hogback to the east.

The Bradford Pool, located in the North Ranch, is open during the summer only. In addition to the swimming pool and wading pool, there are 2 outdoor tennis courts, a picnic area, and a playground.
The Ken-Caryl Ranch Equestrian Center offers boarding, training, and events. We teach total horsemanship from beginner to advanced levels. Group and private lessons are available year round.
Dakota Lodge is located on the grounds of the Equestrian Center. The Open Space Manager’s office is located at Dakota Lodge, and the Ranger Office is next door. KC Nature Environmental Education classes are also hosted here.
