Lariat Loop: Spend a pleasant afternoon cruising the 40-mile route that retraces the motoring adventures of the early 1920’s. Drivers experience the thrill of foothills exploration at the dawn of the Age of Motorcars. Colorado’s first gateways to the mountains still have sharp curves, winding roads, spectacular views, and waysides to refresh and delight the traveler. Enjoy amazing vistas of the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains or stop at one of the many attractions along the Loop.

Take a step back in time and visit pure elegance

he Boettcher Mansion provides a rare combination of historic authenticity and modern amenities from its secluded setting inside the Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve in Golden, Colorado, only a half-hour drive west of Denver. Built in 1917 as a summer home and seasonal hunting lodge for Charles Boettcher, the former “Lorraine Lodge” was donated to Jefferson County in the 1970s for public use and enjoyment. In 1984, the Arts and Crafts estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and now serves as Jefferson County Colorado’s premier historic events venue. A division within the Jefferson County Parks department, the Mansion is self-sustaining, supporting itself primarily from event fees.

One of my personal favorites in is Woody’s 

From there wood fired oven to the all you can eat pizza buffet, Woody’s is one of my all time favorite places to eat.  With it’s great downtown location it is also an easy walk to other shopping and dining in the area.

We all have heard how Coors beer is brewed with real natural Rocky Mountain water….well it’s true,  and it happens right here in Golden.  So when your done having your Pizza at Woody’s head over to the Molson-Coors brewery. You can take tour of and see Colorado’s largest single site brewery that has been in operation since 1873!  You can book your reservations for the tour HERE for the 60 minute tour.

If your like me,  you like that local diner that has a killer burger,  well if this sounds familiar you need to take a stop at Bob’s Atomic Burgers! In addition to a great place to grab lunch Bob’s also partners with local schools and non profits to fundraise and has won the Golden Ethics award,  a Burger with a cause!
